About the Bride
Blyth was born Blyth Catherine Lauzon on June 1, 1983 in Woodbridge, VA where her father was stationed with the United States Navy. When she was six months old, her family moved back to Charleston, SC where she would grow up and attend high school at the Academic Magnet. She joined the cheerleading team her sophomore year and ended up winning the “Most Valuable Cheerleader” award her senior year, which she still believes is not a real award.
She knew that she wanted to head up north for college, and fell in love with the College of the Holy Cross on a visit. She walked on to the crew team there and was pulled up to the varsity team by the end of her freshman year. Yes, she went from cheerleader to rower in less than one year! She fell in love with the sport and rowed competitively on the team until her graduation in May 2005 and moved to downtown Boston to work at Filene’s as an Assistant Buyer.
Blyth’s life changed when Filene’s was bought by Macy’s and she made the decision to relocate to Atlanta to be closer to her parents (and have a job). She did not know anyone in Atlanta, but made fast friends, some of which would decide to create a kickball team. Blyth joined the team not knowing that she would meet her best friend and future husband there!
Today, Blyth works for InterContinental Hotels Group as a Web Merchandising Manager for their loyalty website. She enjoys reading, going to Braves and Georgia games, and rows any chance she gets.
