Wow… is this planning stuff crazy or what!? Well to be honest, the wedding plans are finally starting to come together. In fact, I’d say we’ve finished almost all of the “hard planning” at this point. The church, reception, and hotel blocks have all been reserved. We are currently finalizing the guest list and some of the other “big ticket” items before we start diving into the details.
We’ve hired an excellent wedding planner in Sara Cavallon from Something to Celebrate. Sara has gone above and beyond to assist us with all of those small details that would otherwise fall through the cracks (or resurface when it’s too late). <Plug> Seriously…if you plan on getting married in Charleston, I highly recommend Sara’s life-saving services: http://www.mysomethingtocelebrate.com/
Outside of that, the bride finally got her dress this weekend. The future in-laws came to Atlanta, and Blyth’s mother was there to help her pick out the dress. From what I’ve heard, Blyth looks beautiful…that’s all I know about it (of course), so you may want to ask Blyth if you want specific details.
Anyways, stay tuned for more updates as we near April 28th. For now, it seems so far away…but I have a feeling it will sneak up before we know it…
It’s days like today that help me realize how lucky I am to have found Blyth. Between our busy wedding schedule, traveling to visit family, and my Dawgs in the fall…we rarely have a chance to sit back and do nothing. Today was one of those rare days where we had no commitments, no agendas, and no structure to the day.
So you may ask what we did today? Well, I can honestly tell you that we did nothing…and it couldn’t have been better! I played NCAA 12 on the playstation as Blyth cheered me on…we watched Beauty and the Beast on Blue Ray… we watched 3 straight episodes of Ancient Aliens on the History Channel… and we are currently watching The Proposal. We’ve had a perfect balance of what the other wanted to do today, and we didn’t even fight over the remote I’m so glad I’ve met someone who I can “waste time with”, and that we can both enjoy all of the non-constructive things that the other enjoys in life…because I have a feeling that can go a long way…
After a strong 2 1/2 month run, my FourSquare mayorship of Hospiten Dominican Republic has officially come to an end. Although I wish I could have checked in a few more times to secure my position…I would pay any price to make sure that Blyth would never have to stay there again. So thankful that Blyth and I made it back from our Engagement trip, and so glad to have a healthy fiance! Congrats, Mari Pentunias (whoever you are!)
